What makes you fearless?
What makes me fearless is my ability to embrace my true self and use my voice to advocate for others. Whether I am judging pageants or modeling, I am not afraid to challenge norms and push for greater representation and inclusivity. My strength lies in turning challenges into opportunities, inspiring others to confidently embrace who they are. My authenticity and unwavering commitment to promoting body positivity and self-expression are what truly makes me fearless.
What inspired Brittany Gray Neely to transition from a hair model to a published print model and brand ambassador?
The transition was fueled by my passion for self-expression and empowerment. I initially stepped into the modeling world through hair modeling, but as my confidence grew, so did my desire to break barriers in plus-size fashion. Modeling became more than just posing—it became a platform for me to inspire self-love and body positivity.
How does Brittany use fashion as a platform for promoting diversity and inclusivity in the industry?
I use fashion as a platform to promote diversity and inclusivity by challenging traditional beauty standards and advocating for self-acceptance. As Ms. Full-Figured USA 2022, I encouraged representation in the industry, creating space for individuals of all sizes to feel seen and valued. My influence extends beyond the runway through community service initiatives, such as volunteering at Samaritan Ministries and Meals on Wheels, reinforcing my belief that true beauty is not just about appearance but also about kindness, empowerment, and making a difference.
What challenges has Brittany faced as a model, and how has she overcome them to advocate for representation?
I have faced numerous challenges in my modeling career, particularly in confronting the industry’s limited beauty standards, which often exclude plus-size individuals. However, I turned these obstacles into opportunities by embracing my body and advocating for self-love and body positivity.
How does Brittany define beauty, and why is it important for her to challenge traditional beauty standards?
I define beauty as the unapologetic embrace of one’s true self—mind, body, and spirit. I believe that true beauty comes from self-love and acceptance, not from meeting societal expectations. This philosophy is at the heart of my mission to challenge traditional beauty standards. Through my advocacy for body positivity and self-empowerment, I encourage others to celebrate their unique beauty, helping to create a more inclusive and diverse definition of beauty within the fashion industry.
What are some of Brittany’s most memorable experiences in runway and promotional modeling?
My most memorable experiences in runway and promotional modeling include breakthrough moments that solidified my presence in the industry. One of my standout experiences was walking in my first runway show, “which I was scared to death” but I made it through even though I did not know a thing about modeling. That transformative moment ignited my passion for representing the plus-size community and embracing body positivity.
What future goals does Brittany have for her modeling career and her mission of promoting self-expression and individuality?
My future goals in my modeling career are deeply tied to my mission of promoting self-expression and individuality. I plan to continue to remain a student in this industry because that is the only way to continue to grow as a model. I am committed to empowering others to embrace their unique identities, encouraging confidence and authenticity in how they present themselves to the world. For me beauty goes beyond physical appearance—it includes mental well-being and spiritual health, and I strive to help others recognize the importance of self-love in every aspect of their lives.
